We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer

The ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment used in the Steel Tube making process. Processes include, but are not limited to, roll-forming, welding, cold-drawing, tempering, straightening, and finishing.

Main tasks
Analysis, design and operation of mechanical equipment.
Create and review technical drawings and specifications using computer software.
Equipment troubleshooting to support maintenance as required.
Perform engineering calculations and field data collection to support design work.
Specify materials, testing requirements and equipment needed to implement new machinery, process improvements or scheduled maintenance.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with suppliers and contractors.
Utilize computer software to coordinate maintenance repairs and project work.
Management of capital and expense projects and budgets.
Emphasis on safe work practices and creating a safe work environment.

Must-haves for the Mechanical Engineer.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Firm grasp of engineering concepts and experience designing mechanical systems and products.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical principles to solve problems.
Experience using CAD software (i.e., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
Must be self-motivated and a great team player.

Other important details:
Candidate must possess the physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and move throughout the plant as needed, sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and possess the ability to hear and speak clearly, in person and over the phone.
